Thus, he/she carries out all undertakings related to personnel, such as ensuring employee safety and welfare, guiding workers relations and conducting performance management through subsequent appraisals. At an operational level, human resource managers oversee the organization's compliance with regulatory measures provided by the law and corporations ethics guidelines. In collaboration with other management functions, human resource managers also prepare compensation plans and wage reports, which ensure that every employee gets a fair salary without straining company resources. Salary Range and Reasons for Liking the Job According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average earnings for a human resource manager in the US stood at $106,910 per year in 2016. The lowest paid human resource managers took home an average of $63,140, while the highest human resource managers worked for an average of $193,550 (Bureau of Labor Statistics). There are a few reasons why I find the career of a human resources manager attractive and fitting for myself. Firstly, I love this job because it helps me influence peoples lives through solving problems and guiding their actions. Great HRMs positively change situations through promoting employee welfare, compensation, motivation and other activities that create happiness in the workforce (Ivancevich Konopaske, 2013). Through periodic reviews and interviews, HRMs can collect valuable information for fostering positive transformation in the organization. Thus, the job places me in a good p osition to offer strategic direction to the company and its human resources. Secondly, the job position is highly challenging considering that it requires a broad range of skills both at the academic and interpersonal levels (Ivancevich Konopaske, 2013). This will encourage me to seek for self-improvement opportunities to increase my expertise and qualification for the job. I love responsibilities that motivate me to become better and work on my inadequacies. Finally, the HRM job provides a decent above-average salary, which can give one a comfortable life. Luckily, the wage rate increases as one advances in their career level and expertise.
